Why would I need offline access?
Many homestays, tour destinations, and attractions are in remote areas with limited or no internet connectivity. Saving pages offline ensures you have access to important information like addresses, contact details, and directions even without internet.
What exactly gets saved when I click "Save for Offline"?
When you save a page for offline access:
- The complete page content (text, layout)
- The featured image
- Page metadata (title, type)
Note: Some dynamic features like maps may require internet.
How much storage does offline content use?
Each saved page typically uses 100KB-500KB depending on content and images. Most devices can store dozens of pages without issue.
Will my saved items sync across devices?
No, saved items are stored in your browser's local storage. If you save something in Chrome on your laptop, it won't appear in Safari on your phone. Save items on the device you'll use while traveling.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
Clearing browser data (cache, cookies, local storage) will remove your saved items. Be careful when clearing data before a trip!
The "Save for Offline" button shows an error. What should I do?
Try these steps:
- Refresh the page and try again
- Make sure you're using a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
- Check if your browser allows site data storage
- Try using incognito/private mode (some browser extensions block service workers)
Can I save pages on mobile devices?
Yes! The offline feature works on mobile browsers. For the best experience, you can even add our site to your home screen for app-like access.
How do I remove a saved item?
- Go to My Saved Items
- Find the item you want to remove
- Click the trash/delete icon
- Confirm removal
Can I update a saved page with new information?
Yes! Simply visit the page again while online and click "Save for Offline". It will update the cached version with the latest content.
How long do saved items stay available?
Saved items remain available until:
- You manually remove them
- You clear your browser data
- Your browser automatically clears old cache (rare, usually months)
